“ Buy 10 Gram Gold Coin and Get 0.5 Gram free”

During the period from 4th April to 30th June 2011, India Post will be offering special festive discounts in celebration of the Akshaya Tritiya season. During this festive season, any customer who buys a 10 gram gold coin will get a 0.5 gram gold coin totally free or any customer will get a discount of 6% on that day’s retail price i.e. the customer can opt only one scheme at a time, either 0.5 gram gold coin for purchase of 10 gram gold coin or 6% discount. This year, India Post also introduces for the first time, two new denominations of 10 gram and 50 gram respectively in attractive tamper proof packaging.


These gold coins of 24 carats with 99.99% purity and bearing the India Post logo are manufactured by the world renowned refiner Valcambi SA, Switzerland and they have the advantages of certification by internationally recognized Assayers tamper proof packaging and product standardization. India Post has been retailing gold coins of 0.5 gram, 1 gram, 5 gram, 8 gram and 20 gram through selected post offices since October-2008. In 2010-11, 52 Kgs of gold coins were sold through post offices.

The post offices selling the gold coins in Kerala are, Trivandrum GPO, Trivandrum Fort, Pattom Palace, Trivandrum Medical College, Sasthamangalam, Kollam HO, Chengannur HO, Tiruvalla HO, Kottayam HO, Gandhinagar-Medicalcollege,Kottayam, Changanaqcherry HO, Ernakulam HO, Kochi HO, Tripunithura, Edapally, Ernakulam High Court, Ernakulam MG Road, Thrissur HO, Guruvayur, Kunnamkulam, Chavakkad, Chalakudi HO, Calicut HO, Calicut Civil station HO, Kallai, Kunnamangalam, Feroke, Calicut Beach and Kalpetta HO

The Post Offices that will be selling denominations of 10g, 20g and 50g. coins will be at Calicut HO, Trichur HO, Ernakulam HO, Kottayam HO, Changanacherry HO, Trivandrum GPO, Chalakudy HO, Kalpetta HO, Kollam HO and Trivandrum Medical College.
